(Pottawattamie Co.) Ellen Way, with the Iowa Veterans Foundation, provided an update to the Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday on the Veterans Banners on Veterans Memorial Highway.
Way said the brackets for the banners are in the process of being made and they will be turning in the collected applications for the banners soon.
Way noted that they have plans for the maintenance and upkeep of the banners.
Way requested $5,000 in funding from the Supervisors, saying the money would go a long way toward covering this project as well as ongoing maintenance and upkeep expenses. The Supervisors approved the funding request.
Up to 100 veterans’ banners will line Veterans Memorial Highway. Applications are being accepted for veterans throughout Pottawattamie County.
