(Lincoln, NE) — The Nebraska Cornhuskers will looking at some new faces to contribute on the defensive side this year. However, holdover Vincent Shavers Junior is back at middle linebacker. Shavers played in all 13 games last year with 12 starts and recorded 61 tackles with 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and one forced fumble. On either side of him are transfers — Junior Owen Chambliss from Utah and Junior Dexter Foster from Oregon St. Shavers says he likes what he sees so far from the new guys
Rob Aurich is the new Defensive Coordinator at Nebraska and has put in some new changes which Shavers is fine with
Foster, meanwhile, in two seasons with the Beavers played in 19 games with 11 starts, totaling 95 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and one pass breakup. He sprained his ankle in October which ended his season and then he lost his Head Coach Trent Bray right after that
Foster went in the portal and found Nebraska — one of things that impressed him was the facilities in Lincoln
Chambliss, meanwhile, is on the Butkus award watch list to start the season. Nebraska opens on Saturday, September 5 hosting Ohio.
