(Audubon) The Audubon County Community Foundation awarded $152,508 to Audubon County nonprofit organizations and community projects during its Spring 2026 Grant Cycle.
The following organizations are Spring 2026 Grant Recipients:
*Audubon County Hospital Foundation-Hologic Envision Mammography Machine-$30,000
*Friendship Home Foundation-Wing 3 and 7 Flooring Revitalization-$30,000
*Audubon Fire and Rescue Association-Fire and Rescue Station Project-$30,000
*Exira Fire and Rescue-New Gear and Equipment-$25,000
*Audubon Recreation Foundation-Carpet and Cool the Audubon Recreation Center-$6,500
*Audubon County Agriculture Society Chicken Building Repairs and Updated Cages Project-$5,000
*Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton CSD-“The Barn” Community Fitness Center/Exira-EHK Weight Room-$10,000
*Share My Smile-Project Birthday Joy-$3,500
*Exira Public Library-Teen Furniture, Catalog Computer Station-$1,646
*Brayton Community Club-Brayton Town Hall Phase 4-$10,862
All grantees met the criteria as Audubon County nonprofit agencies or organizations with charitable missions that support community needs in the areas of civic engagement, culture, health, education, and social services. Only organizations providing services in Audubon County were eligible to apply.
The Audubon County Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Omaha Community Foundation, which meets National Standards for Community Foundations, and is one of nine county members of the Community Foundations of Southwest Iowa. It receives funds annually from the State of Iowa County Endowment Fund Program for endowment building and grantmaking throughout the county. This cycle of grants was made possible by the County Endowment Fund Program and is funded by a percentage of the state’s commercial gaming tax revenue, distributed annually to participating community foundations in counties without a state-issued gaming license.
The Audubon County Community Foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to create permanent and expendable funds that address changing, vital community needs and interests. Gifts to permanently endowed funds through the Audubon County Community Foundation may be eligible to receive a 25% Endow Iowa Tax Credit.
