(Undated) — This weekend is the nationwide post office food collection event known as Stamp Out Hunger.
Letter carriers will be picking up donated food left in shopping bags at mailboxes on Saturday to bring it to local food pantries. Foods most in need include peanut butter, whole grain cereals, and canned fruits and vegetables. Stamp Out Hunger is organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers, and is the single largest food collection event in the nation each year.
Since launching in 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger® food drive has resulted in more than 1.94 billion pounds of food collected.
