(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board has approved the addition of bowling to the district’s athletic offerings beginning with the 2026–27 school year.
Activities Director Andy Mitchell told board members during Wednesday evening’s meeting that the idea was sparked by student interest.
Atlantic is currently one of only two schools in the Hawkeye 10 Conference without a bowling program.
Mitchell said that, cost-wise, bowling is very minimal.
Bowling is classified as a winter sport.
