(Atlantic) Atlantic and Glenwood square off in a Hawkeye Ten Conference boys basketball game tonight at Glenwood. This will be Glenwood’s season opener after the initial opening game was postponed earlier in the week. Atlantic is looking to bounce back after an opening season loss to North Polk.
Atlantic Head Coach Dalton Franken says they have been working on cleaning things up at the defensive end over the past three days of practice. The bright spot for the Trojans was the inside game from Kale Jensen and Gavin McLaren. Jensen scored 17 points, and McLaren chipped in eight.
Coach Franken notes that Glenwood returns two starters from last season’s 19-5 squad.
Jack Johnson averaged 18.42 points per game one year ago. Colin Steele averaged 7.38 points per contest. Evan Stanislav averaged 3.17 points per game as a freshman.
The boys ‘ game tips off after the girls’ contest. We will have the broadcast on KS 95.7 F.M., and audio streamed on westerniowatoday.com.
