(Des Moines) Jim Lee with the National Weather Service in Des Moines says snowfall amounts of around five to seven inches are being reported from Audubon to Guthrie, down to Cass County, and lower amounts to the west.
Lee says more snow fell along the Highway 20 Corridor. He says there are reports of 13 to 15 inches from Fort Dodge to Waterloo. He says this is where they are finding the worst travel conditions.
The good news is that the snow has ended today; however, the east-central and northeast regions of the state are under a Winter Weather Advisory.
Lee says the forecast is calling for an inch or two of snow tomorrow.
Bitter cold is expected early this week, with morning lows in the single digits and feels-like temperatures near or below zero, especially in northern Iowa. Additional snow is likely on Monday, with light accumulations north to potentially moderate accumulations south.
