(Des Moines) On Monday, powerful winds lashed the northern counties of Iowa, with gusts reaching seventy miles per hour or more in certain regions.
Alexis Jimenez from the National Weather Service in Des Moines indicates that while they don’t anticipate storms similar to those that struck northern Iowa last night, there is still a chance for strong to severe weather.
Jimenez warns that some areas might experience rainfall amounts between 1 and 3 inches, which could lead to flash flooding. Stay tuned for local forecasts and updates from the National Weather Service.
