Cathy Russell passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Memorial services will be held later on this Summer. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Carson is caring for Cathy and her family.
Catherine Ilene Russell, one of three children of Roy and Shirley (Davis) Russell was born on February 18, 1953 in Corning, IA. She graduated from Carson-Macedonia with the Class of 1971. Cathy worked as a 911 dispatcher for over 17 years in Council Bluffs. She then attended the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy graduating in 1995. She started her law enforcement career as a police officer in Webster City. She then went to work for the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Department and then the Council Bluffs Police Department retiring in 2016.
Cathy loved to travel but most of all loved all her pet dogs.
Cathy is preceded in death her parents; sister in law Margie Russell.
Cathy is survived by her brother Larry Russell of Mancos, CO; sister Carol Curts and her husband Rodney of Carson, IA; nieces and nephews Erica, Rachel, Kent. Rhonda, David and Ryan; other relatives and a host of many special friends.
