(Ames, IA) – Iowa State women’s basketball will be getting the additions of Marquette’s Mackenzie Hare and TCU’s Sydney Harris for the 2024-25 season. Both players have transferred to Iowa State just over the course of the last two days.
Starting with the Marquette transfer Kenzie Hare will be joining the Cyclones after playing in 31 games, averaging 14 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game. In her career, she has spent the last two seasons at Marquette and played in 63 games, shooting 42% from beyond the arc. Hare formally stated that she was looking to play at Iowa State and now has a chance to play with one of the youngest teams in women’s college basketball.
On the other end, TCU transfer Sydney Harris will be transferring to Iowa State after a stint at both Central Michigan and TCU. I had the privilege to watch Harris in the 2022-23 season when Central Michigan took on Valparaiso in the season opener. In that game, she knocked down 18 points and was a very versatile player on the floor, especially for her height. She will not only be a great addition to Iowa State’s roster but will continue to stay in the Big XII Conference. Throughout her career, she has averaged 14.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
Iowa State continues to pick up some big names this season with both Hare and Harris joining the team for the 2024-25 season. They’ll be joining two top players in the Big XII Audi Crooks and Addy Brown.
