(Des Moines, IA)- The semifinals round, two Wolverines enter, but only one makes it to the championship. Practice partners Ashton Honnold at 215lbs and Trenton Warner at 285lbs both had good shots at making the championships in Class 1A for Nodaway Valley. Honnold would punch his ticket first with a 5-2 decision win but it would be Warner who falls in a 3-1 decision. However, these two wrestlers stay steadfast as they know they’ve helped each other prepare for the types of matches they’re about to face. Here’s Honnold on what wrestling Warner has meant for him:

Now they must use the experience between them to cement their spots on the podium on Saturday as Warner tries for 3rd Place and Honnold gets the nightcap championship bout. Head Coach Brad Honnold knows the relationship that these two have and the mindsets they have going into their matches.
