(Undated) — It’s a new year and with that comes what’s known as Dry January.
During the month-long challenge, health officials are urging people to stop drinking alcohol – or at least cut back. The research firm Morning Consult says about 90-percent of those taking part in Dry January do so seeking health benefits. Seventy-three percent do so to save money.
Harvard Medical School provides the following tips for a successful Dry January: Find a substitute no-alcoholic drink, avoid temptations, create a support group and don’t give up. If you slip up, don’t feel guilty. Just begin again the next day.
