(Atlantic) Atlantic senior running back Ethan McNeal carried the ball 19 times for 185 yards and three touchdowns to help lead Atlantic to a 36-7 win over Denison-Schleswig on Friday night. For his efforts, Ethan McNeal is this Week’s KS95.7 Armor Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
McNeal surpassed the 2,000 career rushing yard mark last Friday night. He rushed for 584 yards his sophomore year, 1,331 last season, and thus far this season he has 253 yards on 36 carries through two games. He has stepped off 2,168 rushing yards on 300 carries for a career average so far of 7.2 yards per carry.
McNeal scored on runs of 14, 18, and his longest a 71 yard TD run early in the fourth quarter. Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says McNeil’s long run sealed the deal for the Trojans.
