(Harlan) Lewis Central won six events, finished second in one other, and claimed the team title at the Ken Carstens Boys Invitational Track and Field Meet in Harlan on Tuesday with 110 points. Atlantic won two events, earned three seconds, and finished runner-up in the team race with 90.
Lewis Central won three of the four distance events. Ethan Eichhorn claimed titles in the 1600 (4:35.53), and topped the field in the 3200 (10:06.99). Kade Diercks led the pack in the 800 meters in a time of (2:05.87). Lewis Central claimed first place in the 4×200 meter relay (1:30.76). Parker Matiyow won the Shot Put (52-02), and heaved the discus (171-08) for the win.
The Trojans won two events and finished runner-up in three others. Colton Rasmussen cleared (5-08.00) to win the high jump. The 4×800 meter relay team of Caden Andersen, Alex Sonntag, Jayden Proehl, and Bennett Whetstone claimed the title in the 4×800 in a time of (8:34.59). Jackson McLaren finished runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of (15.89). The Trojans 4×400 meter relay team of Alex Sonntag, Bennett Whetstone, Caden Andersen, and Carter Pellett finished second in a time of (3:39.21).
OABCIG finished third with 84 points. Gabe Winterrowd won the 400 meters (52.21), Beckett DeJean won the 100-meter hurdles (15.43), and the shuttle hurdle relay team clocked a (1:02.10) for the top finish.
The Harlan boys won four events, finished second in two others, and finished fourth with 80.50 points. Will Neuharth and Aidan Hall dominated the sprints. Nueharth clocked (11.16) in the 100 meters, and Aidan Hall finished second in a time of (11.23). Hall won the 200 meters (22.90), and Neuharth finished second (23.18). The speedy duo joined Cade Sears and Jacob Birch on the winning 4×100 meter relay in a season-best time of (43.26). Lukas Francis, Matthew Sorfonden, Sears, and Birch claimed the 800 Sprint Medley Relay title in (1:38.41).
Karson Elwood of Treynor won the 400-meter hurdles in (55.68). Denison-Schleswig topped the field in the Distance Medley (3:45.17). Underwood won the 4×400 meter relay (3:33.28), and Mason Boothby sailed 21-08.00 to win the long jump.
