(Atlantic) Cindy Axne, U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, discussed the Invest to Protect Act during a roundtable with local law enforcement and city officials in Atlantic Tuesday afternoon.
The Invest to Protect Act will make critical investments in local police departments and ensure that police officers in smaller communities have the resources and training they need to keep themselves and their communities safe.
The funding can be used for recruitment, retention bonuses, education bonuses, training, and equipment.
Axne said the bipartisan bill passed out of the House. She said if they can get it through the Senate and signed into law it will start changing things to the way that they should be.
