(Storm Lake) Storm Lake Head Coach Tanner Petersen says that despite the 1-2 start, he has seen a lot of improvement in his football team and is looking forward to traveling to Atlantic on Friday night. The Trojans traveled to Storm Lake and defeated the Tornadoes 47-22.
Coach Petersen says that, when preparing for the Trojans, one thing of note is that they are incredibly well-coached.
Storm Lake quarterback Brock Edwards has completed just under 50 percent of his passes this season. Coach Petersen says Edwards decided to join the squad this season and earned the job.
David William has been Edwards’ main target this season, catching 10 passes for 178 yards, including one 81-yard reception, averaging 18 yards per grab.
Coach Petersen says the offensive line is starting to click. It’s a veteran group that has come into its own over the last couple of years.
Petersen says the defensive unit is one of the strongest units they have had on the field in quite a long time. He says it has been a joy to watch the guys fly around and make plays. He says they are playing free and fast, which is a lot of fun to watch. Petersen says they have a nose for the ball, and that is a recipe for success. Petersen says they have been preparing for a good ol’ fashioned four-quarter hard-fought football game.
