(Atlantic) Atlantic wraps up non-district football action on Friday with a home game against Storm Lake.
Both teams enter the contest at 1-2. Storm Lake lost to Denison-Schleswig 21-10 in week one, edged Council Bluffs 7-6 in week two, and lost 28-14 to MOC-Floyd Valley last week 28-14 Atlantic fell short to Glenwood 63-48 in week one, defeated Denison-Schleswig 36-7 in week two, and fell short to Des Moines-Christian 47-0 last week.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the Trojans are coming off a great week of practice.
The Tornadoes enter the contest with 326 passing yards and 162 rushing yards. Coach Brummer says one key this week is containing Storm Lake Wide Receiver David William. The senior has 10 catches for 178 yards, including an 81-yard touchdown reception. Brummer says the theme this week is to contain number #12.
Coach Brummer says they have gone back to basics on offense. The Trojans have thrown for 328 yards and rushed for another 541 yards. Brummer says the goal is to establish the running attack.
Coach Brummer says ball security will play a key role in Friday night’s game.
