
(Creston) The Union County Law Enforcement Center received a 911 call at 9:11 this (Tuesday) morning reporting an active shooter alarm and hearing gun shots at the Early Childhood Center in Creston. Officers from the Creston Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office and Iowa Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene.
Officers immediately entered the school and began clearing the building within minutes of receiving the 911 call. Officers cleared the building and found no indication of an active shooter. It was later determined that the alarm was set off by a mechanical error.
All Creston Community School District buildings went into lock down until receiving the “all clear” for law enforcement.
