(Audubon) During their weekly meeting on Tuesday, the Audubon County Board of Supervisors approved a new hire for the Secondary Roads Department.
Linda Bills will serve as the Office Manager. Supervisor’s Chairman Doug Sorensen was pleased with the pool of candidates for the position. “I thought that was going to be a big task, but we actually had some really good applicants.” Sorensen says County Engineer Mitch Rydl had to, “Try and make a selection from a hard choice. He chose Linda Bills.” Sorensen adds, “She comes over from Farm Services. Very good, she has a lot of skills that she’ll bring with her and she’ll be able to fill that position very well right off the bat.”
Bills replaces Chris Hemmingsen. “We’ve had a very good Secondary Roads Office Manager in Chris Hemmingsen for somewhere around 10-11 years. Hated to see her leave, but she left for another opportunity. The position has been open only for a few weeks. Chris is still working part-time or trying to help keep things up to speed while she’s also working the other job. She’s very knowledgeable. She turned in her resignation about a month ago. It was a kind of a sad day. I hated to see her go because she brings so many skills to the county. That’s just the way it goes. When you have good people, better opportunities will arrive at their desk.”
The board also approved the purchase of a grapple bucket skid loader attachment for clearing debris off of roads and ditches.
