(Elliott) Fire Fighters from Elliott, Red Oak, Griswold, and Grant responded to a house fire on Sunday afternoon in Elliott.
Griswold Fire Chief J.C. Wyman tells KSOM/KS95 News they were called out at 1:49 p.m. to 600 Elm Street in Elliott. “When we arrived, smoke and flames fully engulfed the first and second floors of the home,” said Chief Wyman. “The Red Oak and Elliott Fire Departments were on location shortly before us. Besides the heavy flames, the wind blowing through the home played a big factor in spreading the fire.”
Wyman says all of the residents were out of the house before the arrival of all firefighters. Wyman says no one suffered injuries in the blaze, and the structure is a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
Firefighters were on the scene for approximately three hours.
The Elliott, Red Oak, Griswold, and Grant Departments were at the scene, along with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Red Cross, Montgomery County, and Cass County EMA’s.
