(Council Bluffs) Day one of the Council Bluffs Classic is in the books, and eight Atlantic/CAM wrestlers qualified for the Gold bracket. The Trojans are currently in 16th place out of 41-teams.
Atlantic/CAM Head Coach Tim Duff says the team wrestled well on Friday against an elite field of athletes.
The Atlantic/CAM wrestlers competing on the championship side of the gold bracket are Aiden Smith (106), Ethan Follmann (132), and Kadin Stutzman at 170. The three who won their first-round match will wrestle in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
The five wrestlers in the gold bracket wrestling on the consolation side are Cruz Weaver (120), Brian South (145), Jarrett Armstrong (182), Brenden Casey (195, and Nathan Keiser (285). These five wrestlers are qualified for the Gold Bracket and lost first-round matches, and will work their way back on the consolation side.
Three wrestlers are in the Silver bracket, and all won first-round matches; Easton O’Brien (138), Tanner O’Brien (152) Miles Mundorf (220).
