(Atlantic) A Cass County man is in custody in connection with a stabbing incident on Sunday night.
Atlantic Police arrested Richard J. Doss Jr. of Atlantic without incident on Monday and charged him with Attempted Murder and Willful Injury-Causing Serious Injury.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Atlantic Police Department.
On Sunday, at approximately 11:51 p.m., the Cass County Memorial Hospital notified the Atlantic Police Department of a male stabbing victim arriving at the emergency room. Police say the incident occurred at apartment 26B of the Walnut Hills Terrace Apartments, located 1300 E. 10th Street in Atlantic. The victim was flown to UNMC in Omaha with serious injuries.
