(Glenwood) Caden Johnson scored 19-points to lead Glenwood past Atlantic 66-59 on Friday in a boy’s basketball game at Glenwood.
Two other players scored in double figures for Glenwood. Zac Kelsey netted 17-points, and Jayme Fritts ended the night with 10.
Atlantic Sophomore Colton Rasmussen came off the bench and scored 28-points. Dayton Templeton ended the night with 11.
The Trojans raced out to a 5-0 lead early, but Glenwood countered with 12-straight and led 16-9 at the end of the first quarter. Colton Rasmussen scored seven points, Templeton, and Carter Pellett knocked down three’s to lead Atlantic to a 19-9 scoring advantage in the second quarter and a 28-25 halftime lead.
Both squads played step for step in the third frame, and the Rams were within two points 43-41, at the end of the third stanza. Zac Kelsey got into a rythum in the final period with 10-points, and Kaden Johnson contributed 10-points including five-of-six from the free-throw line to seal the 66-59 win.
