(Des Moines) Iowa District 21 State Representative Tom Moore says the Human Resources Committee passed four bipartisan bills this week to address childcare access.
Moore says ensuring access to childcare is an important step in getting people back to work. “These bills seek to: increase the child care workforce, increase provider rates for existing child care facilities, provide incentives to create new childcare facilities, and help hard-working families to afford the cost of childcare,” said Moore.
Since March, 81 child care centers and 41 childcare development homes have closed due to the pandemic.
