(Atlantic) The Creston and Atlantic girls’ basketball teams square off for the second time in ten days on Friday night. The Panthers edged the Trojans 67-65 at Creston on December 1. The Panthers are (4-1), and Atlantic is (2-2).
Creston enters the contest averaging 63-points per game, Atlantic averages 61-points per outing. Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says the team average points total is quite an improvement from years past.
Haley Rasmussen leads the Trojans averaging 20-points per game, Lauren Nicholas and Jada Jensen are both averaging ten points per contest. Creston is led by Sam Dunphy and Kelsey Fields, each averaging 22-points per game.
Coach Vargason says the key will be to play pressure defense, create turnovers and turn them into points.
