(Maryville, Missouri) Former Atlantic standout Ryan Hawkins led the No. 1-ranked Northwest Missouri State University men’s basketball team to a 74-67 win over the University of Central Missouri in the Bearcats home opener.
Ryan Hawkins led the way with a game-high 25 points. It is the 27th 20-point game of Hawkins’s Bearcat career. The senior went 9-of-18 from the field and drained four three-pointers.
The Bearcats have won 25 straight games and the 34th straight victory at home. Northwest Missouri State has now won 51 out of their last 52 games against MIAA Conference foes.
The Bearcats return to play Saturday at home against the Lincoln Blue Tigers. The tip is set for approximately 3:30 p.m. following the women’s contest.
