(Atlantic) Once again, high expectations come from the Atlantic/CAM wrestling room in preparation for the 2020-2021 season. The Trojans return a lot of experience from a team coming off a 21-3 dual season one year ago and a fourth consecutive outright or shared Hawkeye Ten Conference Dual Championship.
Atlantic/CAM Head Coach Tim Duff.
Coach Duff welcomes around 32 wrestlers into the room, including four senior starters from a year ago. The list includes two-time state qualifier Joe Weaver who is coming off a 44-win season and 126 career wins.
Senior and district qualifier Jaxson Bell returns to the lineup this season.
District qualifier and Senior Payton Fewson is back as well.
And the fourth senior returning to the starting lineup is district qualifier Devin McKay.
The Trojans have a host of underclassmen with potential. Returning letter winners include juniors Kadin Stutzman and Ethan Follmann.
Five freshmen letter winners return to the lineup this season, including Jarrett Armstrong, Brenden Casey, Easton O’Brien, Tanner O’Brien, and Brian South.
Coach Duff says these returning letter-winners will set the tone for this year’s squad, plus some new performers coming back that had a chance to wrestle last year that are pushing for starting roles.
