(Guthrie Center, IA) — AHSTW will visit AC/GC in a Class A, District 7 game tonight. The Chargers need a win to set up a district title match up next week with Riverside. The Vikings are playing their last game of the season and need a win to keep any playoff hopes a live.
AHSTW is coming off a 42-17 loss to Mount Ayr. Junior Dayton Osbahr did return from an injury but showed some rust — he was 11 of 26 passing for 114 yards and 2 TD but no INT. Head Coach Davis Pattee says its been a rough season for him
While the Vikings have had players going in and out at the QB spot, Junior Evan Harder is quietly having a nice season at WR — 30 catches for 433 yards and 5 TD. Not bad considering he has played with a different QB just about every week
Pattee says they must improve on the defensive side going into this week
The Vikings will have to get physical this week — AC/GC is going to run the football. They know it. AHSTW knows it. Everybody knows it. The Vikes have to stop it.
AC/GC is coming off a 47-13 win over Danville — the Chargers ran for 373 yards with six different guys. They did include a trick play with WR Will Skram throwing a 54 yard TD pass to fellow wideout Kinnick Froehlich. Head Coach Will Shull says the play was kind of designed on the fly
Shull says the defensive side made some plays against the Bears
Shull says his defense will have to account for Osbahr at all times
On offense, AC/GC is not going to change a thing — run, run, run
