(Des Moines, IA) — The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the volleyball regional brackets for the 2026 post-season.
In Class 3A, Atlantic is in Region 7 and will be the #8 seed playing at the #1 seed and #7 ranked Cherokee Washington in the first round on Tuesday, October 20th. The winner will play either Clarinda or Greene County. Kuemper Catholic is the #2 seed and hosts Saydel in the first round with the winner playing either Van Meter or Chariton
Harlan is in 3A, Region 4 and will visit OABCIG — the winner will play either Sheldon or Orange City Unity Christian. #4 Humboldt is the number one seed.
In Class 2A, Riverside and Red Oak were both put in Region 4 and will both have byes. On Wednesday, October 21, the Bulldogs will host the winner of Interstate 35 at West Central Valley while the Tigers will host the winner of Nodaway Valley @ Panorama. The upper half of the bracket with Riverside also includes Underwood at Logan Magnolia while the lower half with Red Oak includes Southwest Valley @ St. Albert. Riverside is the #1 seed while Red Oak the #2 seed.
AHSTW is in Class 2A, Region 2 and will visit MVAOCOU in the first round on Monday, October 21 — the winner plays at the #2 seed and #15 ranked Tri Center on Wednesday, October 21. The winner of that game will play either Missouri Valley or IKM Manning. Number two ranked Grundy Center is the #1 seed.
AC/GC is in Class 2A, Region 7 and will host Ogden on Wednesday, October 21. #7 ranked Woodward Granger is the #1 seed in the region.
In Class 1A, Region 6, Audubon visit Woodbine on Monday, October 19 with the winner going to #2 seed and #13 ranked West Monona. #6 ranked North Tama is the number one seed.
In Region 7, Griswold will visit Fremont Mills on October 19 with the winner playing the winner of Essex at #2 seed and 10th ranked East Mills. Number 7 ranked Dunkerton is the #1 seed.
