(Jefferson) Greene County heads into week three of the district portion of the season with a 1-1 record and faces what could be a must-win game against the Atlantic tonight. A win over the Trojans would certainly keep Greene County in the playoff hunt.
The Rams have an impressive passing game with different signal callers. Zach Stalder is 52/93 for 591 yards, and Joe Higgins is 25/36 for 387 yards. Head Coach Caden Duncan says Higgins will get the start against the Trojans tonight.
The two QB’s have some talented targets in track star Trevon Keely and Jaron Jacobs.
Duncan is preparing his squad for a physical, run-heavy attack by the Trojans. The Trojans have shown they can keep opposing offenses off the field. For example, in the 28-0 win over Creston two weeks ago, the Trojans put together a 10:26 drive. This is coupled with an explosive running back in Ethan McNeal, who averages 7.5 yards per carry.
Coach Duncan said the Trojans’ defensive front is solid, with good linebackers who flow and make plays, and strong athletes in the secondary.
