(Audubon) The City of Audubon held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, October 6, for its new fire station.
City officials said while the community celebrates the new facility, it is important to recognize the firefighters and EMS professionals who make the department strong.
“Audubon’s volunteer first responders are neighbors, friends, coworkers and family members who leave their homes and jobs when the alarm sounds to respond to fires, medical emergencies, accidents and severe weather.”
Officials said their service requires sacrifice, training, commitment and courage, and is given freely to protect the community.
The city dedicated the new facility to every firefighter and EMS professional who has answered the call, as well as the families who support them, thanking them for their service and commitment to Audubon.
