(Treynor, IA) — It is Week Four of the football season — Treynor is starting district play this week — they are 2-1 and they are not settled on a starting quarterback. Riley Lauver took a crash course in QB training and got the week one start which was an OT win over Riverside. Lauver went in week two against Van Meter and Freshman Tracen Frain got some snaps in a 35-28 loss to Van Meter. Last week, it was Junior Kratyn Dirks who got the start but all three guys played and the Cardinals held on for a 18-12 win. Head Coach Jeff Casey has no idea right now who is starting this week but he needs someone to keep the offense in order
Casey says the team is better with Lauver at receiver although he does have advantages when he is at QB
Treynor has skill guys with Finn Mieska at tailback and Brock Casey at wideout and Casey says there are other guys who have not really touched the football yet
Treynor 2-1 and ranked 6th in Class 1A — they visit 1-2 Shenandoah this week.
