(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW had their first cross country meet last Tuesday in Shenandoah. Head Coach Jackson Renberg says there some highlights on the girls side
There are two seniors on the Lady Vikes with Lawler and Yana Lander leading the way. The girls have 9 total runners — Sophomore Kenzi Behrens, Junior Emery Brockhoff and Graham round out the top five.
The boys only have three out for cross country this season and they are all freshmen so they will not have a full team. However, Renberg was impressed with how Roary Leary ran in his first varsity race
The other two freshmen are Asher McDonald and Lucas Plumb.
Renberg says he is not focused on team goals right now — he says the Shenandoah meet was a starting point
AHSTW will run at Logan Magnolia on Thursday; they will host their own meet on Tuesday, September 15.
