(Neola, IA) — Tri Center has a new Volleyball Head Coach this year — Taylor Smith is a first year head coach who was the 7th grade coach for the Trojans. She is from Clarinda and is 2nd all time in assists in Buena Vista history. Smith is excited to become a head coach
Smith takes over a Trojans team that went 13-21 last year — it was the first time in 12 years that Tri Center was under .500 and ended a 4 year streak of winning at least 23 games.
Tri Center loses three Seniors and one full time starter in Harlie Leaders who led the team in kills with 272. Senior Tess Casey had 204 kills and now steps into the #1 role and she is ready says Smith
Sophomore Teri Leaders had 143 kills and becomes the #2 hitter. The Payne sisters will play big roles as Seniors– Jozie is the setter with 568 assists and Zohie is the Libero with 400 digs. Sophomore Lauren Harder is a returning starter who was 2nd on the team in blocks with 28.
