(Harlan, IA) — Harlan Volleyball is poised to turn things around — the Cyclones are coming off a 14-20 season and have not been over .500 since 2020. Second year Head Coach Amber Brown is losing 5 seniors and all of them were contributors but is excited with a team with 9 seniors this year. Seniors Aubree Wegner and Taylor Heese return this year after both going over 100 kills last year. Brown says after a position move, Wegner is poised to have to a big season this fall
Senior Carleigh Goshorn will play both in the middle and right side; Seniors Camryn Goshorn and Avery Manz will be on the outside; Heese will get a lot of kills from the setter position and will team with Senior Suzy Kenkel in that position. Harlan loses their Libero Carly Torneten but Brown has a replacement waiting in the wings
Brown says that the Hawkeye Ten will be different this year with the defending champ Red Oak now in the WIC
Harlan opens their season on Thursday, August 27 with a Quad at ADM with CBAL and Greene County.
