(Boone County, IA) — A fatal accident occurred halfway between Ames and Boone on Monday. 34 year old Bailey Jo Craven of Ames was driving a 2024 Jeep Compass westbound on 190th Street while Wyatt Robert Corbin of Boone was driving a 2020 semi tractor trailer eastbound on 190th Street. The Jeep entered the oncoming lane and was in the path of the truck and struck it head on. The Jeep came to a rest in the ditch on its driver’s side. The truck became jack knifed on the roadway, blocking both lanes. Craven was taken to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines by Lifelight and is being treated for injuries.
