(Neola, IA) — The Iowa State Patrol reports of a fatal one vehicle accident on I-880. On Monday afternoon at 4:30 pm, officers received a report of a car that was upside down in Mosquito Creek near the interchange of I-880 and I-80 near mile marker 16. The vehicle — a 2021 Subaru Legacy was going eastbound on I-880 and at some point left the roadway, crossed the median and struck a bridge railing on the westbound side of the interstate. The impact caused the vehicle to become airborne, striking the creek bank below the bridge and coming to a rest upside down in the creek. The driver — Aaron Charles Roloff of Minden, IA — was pronounced dead at the scene.
