(Des Moines) Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate announced the Iowa Business Against Trafficking Advisory Group (IBAT) in a press conference on Thursday. Over 1000 businesses have already joined the effort.
IBAT is a coalition aimed at preventing human trafficking and helping victims. It will bring together businesses, nonprofits, and experts to develop training and policies focused on combatting trafficking.
The program will include training for employees to identify victims in everyday settings like grocery stores and neighborhoods who may have been overlooked.
