(Washington, D.C.) This week, the U.S. House passed a bill aimed at combating student loan fraud.
Representative Zach Nunn of Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District said the bill includes safeguards against fraudulent “ghost students.”
The Government Accountability Office estimates that up to $500 billion is lost to fraud in the government each year. Representative Nunn said he will continue working to stop fraud and hold those responsible accountable. Last week, the House also passed legislation designed to crack down on individuals who steal from child care assistance programs.
