(Guthrie Center, IA) — Guthrie County Health Services Director Jotham Arber proposed to the county supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting to form a commission on vicious animals. Arber says the ordinance that is in place allows for such an entity. Arber says there have been a few incidents recently that warrants the creation of a commission
Arber says the commission would have the final say on whether an animal is vicious and therefore harmful to the community
The supervisors agreed to create a three person commission and will ask a member from the sheriff’s office and a local veterinarian to service on the commission plus one of the supervisors or public official will be the third member.
