Two Injured in Head-On Crash in Monona County

(Monona Co.) Two people were injured in a head-on collision in Monona County Wednesday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. at K45 and Cherry Avenue.

Authorities say a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country driven by 38-year-old Nichole AnnMarie Healey of Dunlap was traveling north in the southbound lane for an unknown reason. A southbound 2024 Volkswagen Taos, driven by 57-year-old Lesley Ann Hubert of Whiting, was approaching when Healey attempted to swerve before the vehicles collided head-on.

Hubert sustained serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. Healey was transported by Burgess EMS to Burgess Health Center in Onawa for treatment of injuries.
