(Atlantic) The Atlantic softball schedule has changed due to weather conditions. Initially, Atlantic was set to host Estherville-Lincoln Central at 3:30 p.m., but the Midgets will not be traveling from northern Iowa. Instead, Atlantic will face Carlisle in a Junior Varsity-Varsity matchup this afternoon, with the J.V. game beginning at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity contest scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
Currently, Atlantic boasts an undefeated record of 8-0 and is ranked #12 in Class 3A, while Carlisle, with an 8-1 record, holds the #2 spot in Class 4A. Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann acknowledges that Carlisle is a formidable opponent.
The Wildcats feature two strong pitchers, Mallie Stoner and Estella Bowman, with Stoner holding an impressive E.R.A. of .69 and Bowman at .94.
The Trojans have shown remarkable batting prowess, averaging .386 through their first eight games.
