(Des Moines) Zach Lahn is the Republican nominee for Iowa governor, receiving 37.68% of the vote in Tuesday’s election. His win comes after President Donald Trump’s endorsement of opponent Randy Feenstra, who later conceded the race.
Lahn was endorsed by Turning Point Action and Make America Healthy Again Action. While he has worked for a Colorado state senator and helped run campaigns for Republican candidates in Iowa, this is his first run for public office.
The 40-year-old describes himself as a farmer, father, and businessman. He has centered his campaign on “Iowa First” initiatives, with special focuses on increasing in-state ownership, making Iowa healthy again, restoring the education system, and farmers’ rights.
He will face Democratic nominee Rob Sand in the general election on November 3, 2026.
