(Atlantic) The Atlantic Public Library will host a remote live event on Tuesday, May 26, at 3:30 p.m., titled “The Story of a Mission to the Moon with Paul Byrne.”
The live, interactive virtual presentation will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions following the program. The event comes after NASA completed a historic mission to the moon in April, marking the first time the United States returned to the moon in more than 50 years.
During the presentation, Byrne will discuss the Artemis II mission and provide a look at NASA’s future plans for lunar exploration. Byrne is a planetary scientist who worked on NASA’s Messenger Mission, the first mission to orbit the planet Mercury. His research focuses on comparing and contrasting the surfaces and interiors of planetary bodies.
The event is open to all ages.
The library will also kick off its summer events on Monday, June 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. Summer library handouts will be available that day, along with representatives from other community organizations.
Summer library calendars and reading logs are available on the library’s website under the Summer Library tab.
