(Red Oak) – The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors recently approved a resolution to amend the County’s Capital Asset Policy and authorized a new three-year contract with Cost Advisory Services.
Montgomery County Auditor Jill Ozuna confirmed that the Cost Advisory Services contract totals $4,450 for three years, with no increase from the previous agreement.
Regarding the Capital Asset Policy amendment, Ozuna noted that the state has raised the capitalization threshold from $5,000 to $10,000.
The updated policy establishes uniform procedures for identifying, capitalizing, depreciating, and disposing of county assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting, accountability, and compliance with state auditor requirements.
The supervisors also approved several financial items, including claims payable of $354,902.12, recorder fees of $16,597.07, sheriff’s fees of $5,952.50, and the Treasurer’s semi-annual ending fund balance of $15,818,998.58 as of April 30.
Additionally, the board agreed to move the June 2 meeting to Tuesday, June 9, to canvass Primary Election results. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 19 at 9:00 a.m.
