(Neola, IA) — Tri Center girls soccer is sitting in 2nd place in the Western Iowa Conference standings right now — with last night’s win over Logan Magnolia, Treynor is 3-0 in the WIC and the Trojans are 1-0 with several games postponed — 5-3-1 overall. Long time Head Coach Jeff Lefeber went back to the drawing board this off-season and changed the way his team plays in order to get as many people as many touches as possible
The result is that 8 different players have at least one assist and Junior Zohie Payne is leading the offense with 10 goals followed by Freshman Lauren Harder and Senior Lucy Elsenor each with six — Lefeber says Payne is hustling her way towards the net
Even though Tri Center is not having problems scoring, Lefeber says defense is the team’s biggest strength and it starts in goal with Senior Macie Schneckloth with an 81.4 save percentage
Tri Center will visit Riverside in a Western Iowa match up tonight.
