(Avoca, IA) — AHSTW will be sending Senior Collin Harder to the Drake Relays this week and will be running in the 800 on Thursday. Harder posted a time of 1:55.28 last Tuesday at Tri Center which currently ranks 12th in the state. Harder was not even tested in the race — nobody was even close to him so he posted the time pretty much running by himself. Head Coach Jackson Renberg says that makes the time even more impressive
Now Harder will run against the likes of Quetin Nauman of Western Dubuque and Caleb Ten Pas of Des Moines Christian — Brennan Hoyer of Cedar Falls currently has the fastest time in the 800 at 1:53.72. Renberg says it will be an amazing experience for Harder
On the relay front, Renberg says they have been focused on getting Harder to the Drake Relays that he has not run in the 4×800 or 4×400. That will change now and Renberg is confident that the group will able to lower their times with Jackson Jensen, Evan Harder and Chase Wheatley in the 4×400 and Evan Harder, Wheatley and Ty Nelson in the 4×800.
Renberg also says there were some highlights last week in the field events
AHSTW will be at the CAM Classic Relays on Tuesday held in Atlantic. Harder will run in the Drake Relays Thursday at 1:57 pm.
