(Underwood, IA) — Tonight is a big night in Iowa high school track and field — its the last night for athletes to try and qualify for the Drake Relays. Underwood boys will more than likely send Junior Tayden Hull to the blue oval next week to compete in the 400 Hurdles. Hull is currently ranked 9th in the state in the event and they take the top 16 times. Head Coach Tyler Ridder says Hull has become the leader of the team
Hull is also part of the 4×100 relay that has a chance to make the field at Drake — they are on the bubble in 91st place going into tonight’s meets and Ridder feels they can get their time lower
Underwood also has a strong 4×400 team of Jack Limpp, Quentin Hultquist, Jackson Hughes and Hull that rank 38th in the state and the Shuttle Hurdle team of Hull, River Allen, Hudson Ross, and Hultquist that rank 34th.
The Eagles are also competitive in the throws with three of them vying for two varsity spots — Seniors Ryker Adair and David Foote and Freshman Lucas Huneke
Underwood will be competing at the Council Bluffs Boys Invite tonight at Gale Wickersham Athletic Complex.
