(Des Moines) After severe storms swept across parts of Iowa on Wednesday, bringing large hail, conditions are calmer today. But the break won’t last long. The National Weather Service says another round of severe thunderstorms is expected to develop Friday afternoon and evening as a strong cold front moves through the region. Damaging winds and tornadoes are the main concerns, with large hail and possible flooding also posing additional risks.
