(Pottawattamie Co.) The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution supporting the naming of the Interstate 80 bridge over Tamarack Avenue in Pottawattamie County as the second Matt Dickerson Memorial Bridge.
County Engineer Andy Wicks said this request came from the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Matt Dickerson was a tenured Iowa DOT employee who was struck and killed by a vehicle while on the job in 2024.
In March, the Supervisors approved a request from Dickerson’s family to name the bridge over Interstate 80 on 298th Street/L55 the Matt Dickerson Memorial Bridge.
